Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. The singer's career has taken her across Broadway to European events and clubs, and even to at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real the name of Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue a musical career performing and singing at church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music in Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan It has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become a staple of her live set. The singer has also provided her voice on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005 she was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her an opportunity to be the choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
